When two architects get married, it makes sense that they would have the most beautifully designed wedding! Holly + Jeremy got married on a sunny August day at Teachout Events Wedding Venue in the heart of Des Moines’ East Village.
We started their day at the newly renovated AC Hotel in the East Village. The modern design made for a great backdrop for getting ready and detail photos of their invitation suite. We then headed down the street to the Teachout Building for photos until the ceremony began. The old industrial architecture of exposed brick walls accented with twinkly lights and large windows gave a unique urban feel unlike any other wedding venue we’ve been to. For outside pictures, there were countless buildings and art murals through the East Village for portraits. Lastly, our favorite feature was the lush green ivy wall across the street to bring in a touch of nature. There are countless places to take pictures inside and around the Teachout Building, all a wedding photographer could ask for out of a wedding venue!
After a heartfelt ceremony, we headed to Bellhop for celebratory drinks, which is a retro style tiki bar with the most amazing botanical wallpaper! The reception was full of dancing and delicious food. They wrapped up the reception with a private final dance for Holly and Jeremy while their guests lined up outside to send them off with a glow stick goodbye.
