Mallory and Daniel’s wedding is definitely one for the books! Despite having to change plans and reduce their guest list due to COVID, they still managed to have the wedding they dreamed of. Not only did they pull off a beautiful wedding, but they kept positive spirits through the ups, downs and unknowns of the pandemic. (Spoiler alert: there’s not a guidebook on how to plan a wedding during a worldwide pandemic!)
First Look at Wartburg College
After the guys and girls were finished getting ready, we headed to Wartburg College for Mallory and Daniel’s first look. Before actually seeing each other, they read aloud letters they had written to each other. Through all the tears and laughter, it was easy to see how truly excited they were to be getting married! It was finally time for them to see each other, and lets just say, Daniel’s reaction did not disappoint! We took portraits of the two of them around campus as they enjoyed this moment of calm before the excitement of the wedding started.
Bridal Party Portraits at the Waverly Rail Trail
Next, we headed to the Waverly Rail Trail down the road for bridal party pictures. This spot was particularly special as it was where Mallory and Daniel got engaged! We always love when couples incorporate special places into their wedding pictures.
Fox Ridge Golf Course
We then headed to Fox Ridge Golf Course where they had their ceremony and reception. Unfortunately it rained just before the ceremony was supposed to start, so it had to be moved inside. Nonetheless, it was a heartfelt and beautiful ceremony. Mallory and Daniel truly exemplified that your wedding day is about getting married, no matter what gets thrown your way!
We then transitioned into the reception where they had so many fun details – the gluten-free wedding cake that Mallory made herself, their favorite cocktails at the head table (Mallory – a Moscow Mule, Daniel – an Old Fashioned) and Sour Patch Kids at every place setting (I might have snuck a stash into my camera bag!)
They shared their first dance, celebrated with friends and family, and ended the evening with a send off surrounded by their guests. Thank you to Mallory and Daniel for having us capture these special memories for you!
